SharePoint & OOS Server VM Verification Checklist

Assumptions and Decisions:

Share Point 2019 development environment will have the following components:

  • All servers must be able to communicate with each other (Successful ping )

  • All servers must be reside on Same Domain, Same AD

  • SharePoint 2019 Shared MinRoIe Server( Web + Distributed cache role : one server)

  • SharePoint 2019 Shared MinRoIe Server( Application + Search role : one server)

  • OOS Farm- Single server Farm & Workflow( Service Bus included) Manager-single server Farm (both on same server)

  • SharePoint, Workflow Manger, Service Bus Manager Databases on single SQL DB Instance

  • All Web Apps URLS, Workflow URL, PowerBI Report server URL, and OOS Server farm Url will be on Https

  • Development environment will not be load balanced for user requests.

  • Development environments does not support HA ( High availability) and Disaster Recovery Scenario

  • Enable Internet connectivity for the installation purpose (Initial stage )

Network Requirements:

Datacenters that are in close proximity to one another and connected by high-bandwidth fiber optic links.

The following prerequisites must be met:

There is a highly consistent intra-farm latency of <1 ms one way, 99.9% of the time over a period of ten minutes. (Intra-farm latency is commonly defined as the latency between the front-end web servers and the database servers.)

  • The bandwidth speed must be at least 1 gigabit per second.

SharePoint Server Mandatory Requirements:

  • Please do not install the office clients on these servers.

  • Windows Server Page File Size: 2 times of RAM allocation located on C drive

  • Windows Server power Plan: High Performance

  • Latency between servers should be less than 1 ms

  • NTFS Allocation Unit 64K

OOS Server Notes:

  • Office Online Server only supports the "server with Desktop Experience" installation option of Windows Server 2016.

  • Office Online Server does not support Windows Server 2019.

  • Don't install any other server applications on the server that's running Office Online Server.

  • Don't install any version of Office client application.

  • Don't install any services or roles that depend on the Web Server (IIS) role on port 80, 443, or 809
